While you may think concrete is the perfect option for those in need of a durable and long-lasting table, there are some downsides you should consider before snagging one:

First, concrete tables are just as heavy as you’d imagine, so if you move often you may want to reconsider and go with a lighter table (or hire some very strong movers.)

Concrete also requires regular sealing and maintenance to keep it in good condition. This will help prevent cracking, but concrete is quite susceptible to cracking regardless.

Lastly, concrete is naturally porous. This means that properly cleaning it can be incredibly tough. You’d never want to handle anything like raw chicken on it since bacteria can dig deep and easily overstay their welcome.
