It’s my first bump update! Hello, second trimester! I cannot even believe i’m past the half-way mark (writing that makes me anxious) but, I’m learning to take things day by day. I honestly haven’t even ‘felt pregnant’ until recently. I’m finally starting to feel some movement, and it’s the craziest/weirdest/coolest feeling ever! Kevin felt her kick for the first time last night — such a special moment. I can already tell he’s going to be the best daddy to our little girl.

What’s really cool about my pregnancy is that my older sister is a month ahead of me. We are literally due one month apart (August 4th and September 4th). Oh, and we had our weddings a month apart, too! (I know, my poor mother! Ha) No coincidence. I guess we’re on the same ‘life wave’ but, nonetheless, it’s been fun to share the journey. Have any of you gone through big changes with your siblings? I’d love to hear below.
Wearing a non-maternity floral maxi dress (under $50), Adalyn’ Espadrille Wedge Sandals (my favorite) & a white panama hat (under $30)
I think the biggest change from the first to second trimester are the emotions. Holy moly, you guys, I’ve been a cry-baby! Here’s a funny example — I went to a cupcake shop, and cried in public. I literally was crying while eating a cupcake. I mean, I guess it could be worse? It’s definitely starting to get a little better, and my husband has been a champ! Ha.
I’m also starting to feel incredibly overwhelmed. I haven’t started the nursery yet (please tell me that’s okay!) and I still need to register. I haven’t read any baby books, or signed up for any classes. Speaking of: which ones do you recommend? I’ve never been much of a planner, but I’m trying to learn to think/plan ahead! This will definitely come in handy when I’m balancing a business as mama. Again, I’m just taking things day by day, which is the best advice I’ve received.
A few more questions…
Are you wearing maternity clothes?: Not yet, which is surprising. All of the clothes I’ve been wearing, including this adorable maxi are non-maternity. My jeans are definitely starting to get tighter, but my friends swear by the belly-band to help me through! It’ll be a hot summer with a big ole’ belly!

How are you feeling? I know they say symptoms tend to fade in the second semester, but like I’ve explained here, I haven’t had many symptoms at all. (I know, so incredibly lucky!) I’ve been feeling fantastic, just a little more emotional. FYI: This has been a blessing/curse for me — Having no symptoms made me a little more panicked (especially in the first trimester). I thought to myself, if I don’t have symptoms, is the baby okay? I definitely called the doctor multiple times a week to calm my fears! He just reassured me that I’m one of the lucky ones, and to enjoy every minute. My husband banned me from the internet. Stay away! Haha.
What’s the best part so far? Feeling the baby move! It’s still absolutely crazy to me that I’m growing another human. I’m walking around with 2 hearts, and, I’m not going to lie — it trips me out sometimes!!! I’ve also really enjoyed buying all of the cute baby girl clothes. I can’t help myself!
Have you started the nursery? Like I mentioned above, I haven’t started the nursery but I definitely have some visions! The room is all cleared out, and we just need to pick out paint/wallpaper and furniture. I’ll be sharing my inspiration with you next week — this is definitely my favorite part of the process! Can’t wait to see it all come together. I’ll be doing a nursery reveal in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
Any food cravings? Dunkin Donuts iced-coffee is my go-to every single day! I’m spending so much money on this stuff! Send help! I’m also loving steak, burgers, donuts, frozen yogurt and candy. I seriously need to chill out! Blah.
If there’s one thing I need to work on, it’s working out. I’ve only gone 2-3 times since I’ve been pregnant. Ugh, so embarrassing. It’s been hard to get the motivation after working — do any of you have helpful tips/tricks? It’ll probably help me get more energy, too!
Thanks so much for following along! XX
