Christmas in July?

Let the countdown begin! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale begins in less than week! We’re talking the BIGGEST & BADDEST sale of the year. The sale of ALL sales! (Ok, I’ll stop) — But, for real, you don’t want to miss out. With early access beginning in 5 days (Ahhh!) I thought I’d go over some tips/tricks on conquering Nordstrom like a girl BOSS. (Your wallet, and wardrobe will thank you later). Take it from me, I was not organized last year & a lot of my must-haves were sold-out in a flash. Not this year, Nordstrom! I’m taking you down! 

WHAT EXACTLY IS THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE & HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS?

It’s one of the most important sales of the year (Think bigger than black Friday). For a limited time (early access begins July 14th) — Nordstrom marks down BRAND NEW fall merchandise. Yup, fresh off the truck! All goodies are up to 40% off, and it’s the perfect time (dare I say) to get ahead on your Holiday shopping list (Yup, totes just went there — sorry, summer!) & get your wardrobe ready for that crisp-cool air! Ah, how I miss the cool breeze & colorful leaves. Don’t forget — items are back to full price on August 8th, so remember to plan ahead!

WHEN CAN I SHOP?

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open to the public on July 22nd, & that means everyone can shop. Here’s where it gets tricky (my mistake last year!) — By the time July 22nd rolls around, most of the good (designer) stuff is gone-zo. It’s important to be a Nordstrom VIP to have EARLY access on July 14th. That means an ENTIRE WEEK of shopping before the public! Talk about a great bargain!

HOW CAN I ROLL WITH THE VIP’S?

Simply put: You’ve got to become a Nordstrom Cardholder. Trust me, I know that line is a scammy-sammy. (You like that?) But, it’s totally worth it — and for my fellow fashionistas, you’ll rack up points, and member benefits all year. (My colleague has saved up more than $500 to shop this year!) If you’re reluctant to sign up for another credit card (Guilty) — You can easily sign up for the Nordstrom Debit card, this just links to your checking account (just like the Target RedCard — I know you’ve got one of those!)

WHAT SHOULD I BE SHOPPING FOR?

This sale is a great time to get ahead on Holiday shopping, fall must-haves, beauty products, jewelry, workout clothes, bags & shoes. I’m linking some of my favorites below, so make sure to check them out! Also, go through your closet and see which items you need the most. It’s important to have a plan before you attack! Also: I recommend buying 2 sizes of an item you’re unsure of, you can always return in the store. Nordstrom has the best return policy! Oh, and free shipping!

Time to treat yourself! This sale is a great time to invest in a timeless piece that will last for years & years! I’ve got my eyes on the Phillip Lim leather crossbody bag (perfect for the office!) & this Tory Burch bag is everything (It sold-out super quickly last year, so add it on your wish-list!) I love the style/design of this saddle bag — Perfect for date-night on those cozy fall days! With more than a 40% off savings, make sure to shop the sale right away so items don’t sell-out! BEST OF SHOES

These Rag & Bone ‘Margot’ booties are my #1 pick for the sale! They literally go with everything, and are a great shoe to wear from the office & beyond. I’m also eyeing these ‘Majorca’ TOMS — I just love the color, design & peep-toe! Swoon! (Can you tell I’m obsessed with shoes?) I have been needing a pair of black booties — and these Joe’s leather shoes are perfection. One pro to the NSale?! EVERYTHING is on sale — there are no exceptions, including beauty. From Nars, to Mac — Dry Bar products & beyond // This is a great time to start thinking stocking stuffers & holiday gifts for loved ones! I can’t stop looking at this Nars cheek palette (how dreamy!) If you’re on the hunt for some new eye-shades, BareMinerals have absolutely NAILED these colors. The perfect ingredients for fall! For those of you that really know me, you know that I’m no stranger to hot-pink lips, so this Nars lip collection is most definitely on my shopping list! I can’t even begin to describe my excitement! (The little things!)

WHICH ITEMS SELL OUT FIRST?

It’s always a good idea to know which items sell-out the fastest, so you can go for those first! Last year, the Tory Burch riding boots & flats were a definite winner!
