It wasn’t long ago when I stumbled upon the beautiful, Jess Lively. Her website, with-intention.com has sparked my inner-entrepreneur. I immediately shared with my mom, who recently launched her own business, ‘Little Royalty Couture‘ — At the mere age of 15, Jess started her own jewelry line ‘Jess LC‘ and grew over the next 14 years to a 6-figure company, selling: handmade jewelry, quality handbags, leather iPad cases, scarves, stationary, prints + more. In November 2012, Jess collaborated with up and coming creative businesses and sold her shop to small boutiques. Which lead to a full-time passion of ‘helping people design lives with intention’ — Jess’s model is simple, yet powerful:
- Life: Craft personalized intentions for life based on your unique gifts and vision.
- Business: Help entrepreneurs discover the next steps needed to make their business stand out and grow in a sustainable way
- Space: Help families and businesses create stylish spaces with clean lines and vintage accents

I absolutely fell in love with Jess’s space right here in Chicago! Talk about an inspirational environment! Read below for her interview:
What’s trending now in home-décor? Do you typically follow trends?
I don’t typically follow any specific trends, but I do feel like my designs are current.
I personally am in love with all things gold and white. I’m also obsessed with etched antique mirrors, Louis style chairs, wing backs, and modern printed wallpaper.
Favorite places to shop?
My go-to store is West Elm for most things I’d like to have for 3-5 years. I’m also a huge fan of finding things with potential on Craigslist (I’m constantly monitoring available goods via the iPhone app) and at thrift stores. Chic Antique is also a favorite spot to check in for cool and unusual finds.
What’s your favorite room, and why?
My favorite room is my bedroom. I love the copious amounts of gold and white and the lighting in there is so special. It’s “cozy” (9’10” x 12′), but has exactly what we need in the space.
What advice would you give beginners?
Have fun finding inexpensive vintage finds and giving them a fresh coat of paint. There are so many more options beyond the Ikea’s of the world that can give life and personality to any space.
Best advice you’ve ever received?
Go for large neutral pieces of furniture and layer in color through pillows, rugs, and artwork.
