The Ultimate Friendsgiving Tradition

Tis’ the season to be eating! We’ve officially made it to my favorite time of the year. I mean, what’s not to love? Every celebration is centered around food/leftovers. Thanksgiving has an entirely new meaning as I celebrate with my brand new baby girl. Since I’m a workin’ mama with a newborn, I’m sharing some tips for an easy, but very successful Friendsgiving! Oh, and my secret weapon: Honey Baked Ham. Seriously, SO good! Scroll below for deets!

STORE BOUGHT IS A-OK!

As a new mama, I definitely don’t have time to make a homemade meal. One of my favorite traditions is picking up a Honey Baked Ham. It’s a legendary taste that everyone loves. It’s also a friend/family tradition that we’ve been celebrating for years. It’s always the biggest hit of the night. In addition to the Honey Baked Ham, I also picked up some delicious sides to share! Green bean casserole, orange walnut cranberries (amazing) cinnamon walnut coffee cake (perfect for breakfast, or a take-home treat for guests) and a pecan pie. Everything tastes homemade and it’s painless! This allows you to spend more time with loved ones. Check locations here — still plenty of time to pick some delicious eats up!

ADD SIMPLE DECOR

I always add a festive touch to the table. This year, I opted for a wicker/blush/gold combo. It’s a modern take on a chic meal. I picked up this faux fur runner (that can be used year-round) and gorgeous wicker cups for some added flair. You don’t have to get carried away with the details. Simple is best!

DRESS UP

There’s something about dressing up that does the soul good! Also, it’s good for this mama to ditch the yoga pants now and then — makes me feel human again! Can anyone relate? I just picked up these red velvet leggings (wait, those are also stretchy! Sneaky!)

TELL PEOPLE WHAT TO BRING

The more the merrier — this goes for food, too! Don’t be afraid to ask friends to bring a specific dish/cocktail. Friendsgiving is all about coming together, you don’t need to do it all. After all, that’s what friends are for, right?

TAKE IT HOME

Most likely, you’re going to have a ton of leftovers! Buy some reusable Tupperware (usually on sale this time of year) to send your guests home with delicious eats. It’s less for you to store in fridge before the real turkey day!

FAUX FLOWERS

Yup, fake it up! They last forever, and they don’t take away the delicious scents of the food. They’re also really inexpensive at your local craft stores, so you’re not spending a lot. They add such a gorgeous addition to the table setting.

SET THE MOOD

I put my Christmas tree up early, but it serves as the perfect decor/backdrop for the table. I also put on a Spotify playlist (they really have so many to choose from!) that sets the mood for a fun night. Don’t forget to light up some candles, and dim the lights down low. Let the twinkling lights shine through.

What’s your favorite way to celebrate Friendsgiving? Does a Honey Baked Ham make an appearance in yours? xx
