Not Your Standard isn’t just my ‘Chic Crush of the Month’ but my crush of the century — Kayla Seah is a list making virgo who truly appreciates the details of design. (Her Instagram is whimsical and charming with a following of 22k+). With a degree in Fashion Communication & industry experience including major cities: Toronto, New York and currently, Berlin as an interior decor stylist — it’s no wonder her blog has taken off. Not Your Standard is a Heart of Chic staple with a glimpse into fashion, delicious food, decor and everything else that inspires.
How did you come up with the name, ‘Not Your Standard’?
It took me awhile to find a name I could live with forever. I really wanted to create a blog that hasn’t been done before, which is mainly where the name stemmed from. I want people to think this is not your standard fashion or lifestyle blog when reading it.
What is your inspiration?
My inspiration changes from week to week. “I have always needed to live in surroundings that inspire. I feel Berlin does that for me right now, there is a certain energy in the city that keeps me motivated” Other things include fellow bloggers and a good magazine never fails!
Best piece of advice you’ve received?
“Do anything and everything, and if you regret it in the morning, sleep in.”
Describe your style:
Minimal chic with clean lines and a bit of edge. Whether that be a touch of print, color or a good leather piece.

First thing you do in the morning:
Have coffee and catch up on Instagram, living in Europe I’m now 6 hours ahead of a lot of people I follow…so I need to see what happened while I was sleeping!
