Easy Thanksgiving Sides that will Impress

Hi, it’s me — the girl who skipped right over Thanksgiving (kidding, sort of). I did put my tree up last night, and I’m already loving the added coziness. I think my turkey will fit right in, thank you very much! (PS: Are you pre-Thanksgiving tree or post?) I explained it more in my white Christmas tree decor post, but I’ve crossed to the other side. It’s a lot of work putting up decor for the holidays, and add a baby in the mix — just want to enjoy this time for as long as possible! OK, moving along.

Today, I’m sharing my favorite Thanksgiving sides that you can impress the family with. Buttery mashed potatoes, veggies, cranberry brie bread (what!) – it’s all below. Everyone knows the best part about Thanksgiving is the leftovers. Duh. Make sure you leave a stash behind, so you can extend the deliciousness for just a tad longer. What are your favorite recipes to make? Would absolutely love to hear below. Happy eating!

THANKSGIVING SIDES

BUTTER HERBED MASHED POTATOES

I’m not so sure I need to include a blurb about this one, because the photo does it all for me. WTF. Potatoes are my absolute favorite on Thanksgiving, and these are simple. And buttery, did I mention buttery? The browned butter with fresh sage is the secret sauce, and it’s the key to making yours stand out from Grandma’s (sorry, Mimi). Feel free to plan ahead to make day-of a breeze. Nomz!

CRANBERRY BRIE PULL APART BREAD

Oh boy, cheese and bread. Cheese and bread, people. Is there any better combo in life? It’s festive, pretty and delicious. Everyone will truly go nuts for it, and the cranberries are the ultimate touch. Prep time only 10 minutes, and ready in 15! That’s what I call an easy Thanksgiving side! Drops mic.

ACORN SQUASH PASILLA CHILE QUESO FUNDIDO

I just thought this would look heavenly on the table! A great pre-Thanksgiving treat to keep guests busy while the big turkey prepares for the show! Definitely making this for the fam next week.

KALE RISOTTO WITH FARRO

Such a cozy meal for the fam. A great pick for the kale lovers, and a fun way to incorporate those veggies (yes, veggies do exist on holidays).

FLAKY BUTTERMILK BISCUITS

A Cozy Kitchen is one of my favorite blogs for food inspiration. Can’t get enough of these delicious homemade buttery biscuit bites — They’re actually from Carla Hall’s cookbook. They’re fluffy, flaky perfection and the entire family will go nutty over these on Thanksgiving.

BROCCOLI SALAD WITH APRICOTS AND PECANS

Salty, sweet, crunch goodness! Who doesn’t love a roasted broccoli? Easy, under 5 ingredients and always a crowd pleaser. This is a great side for those super busy, but still want to cook kind of peeps! So pretty, too!

TRADITIONAL HOMEMADE STUFFING

Can’t forget about the ultimate Thanksgiving side: stuffing. I like that this one is comforting, and traditional. A great dinner to make on weeknights, too! Anyone else forget that Thanksgiving favorites can still make appearances throughout the year?
